I have added a global Sitemap to the site to provide internal linking that should help with Search Engine Optimization (SEO). While my search engine placement is decent for search term "Graham Allen", there are other search terms that require improvement. I will be working diligently over the coming weeks to implement improvements to this process and hopefully climb the ladder of google success. My primary objective is to provide increased placement for searches centered around "Web Design Tampa" and the like. While my digital photography portfolio has blossomed, my web design and development portfolio has suffered over the past couple of years. I'm hoping to improve this as I make efforts to grow a business presence that will deliver dynamic, efficient and search-engine friendly web sites for local business.

At the same time, I am currently working to re-establish the web portion of the portfolio as any previous examples I have are out of date and/or incomplete. I am currently looking to improve my portfolio with pro bono work in exchange for permission to post samples as portfolio pieces. If you are interested, please feel free to Contact Me.

Last, I have implemented an RSS feed system for the Blog. This will allow me to feed the blog direct to any location dynamically by utilizing the SpringBox widget application.

Stay tuned as there are more updates to come.

I have made my personal blog live, however, I'm having some problems with subdomaining at blog.grahamallen.net. I have a feeling this is due to the index file being pure PHP. This looks like an empty document and redirects back to the primary domain (http://www.grahamallen.net). This is an unfortunate stumbling block, but is one that I don't have much time to try and correct at the moment. I still have to finish building the primary site and the gallery before moving on to some other projects that I have going on at the moment. Everything will be sorted out fairly shortly I am sure, so if you're keeping up, stay tuned....it will all be working to design before long. I have also validated the site with w3c to ensure xhtml 1.0 transitional code is being used.

The bulk of my focus at the moment is going to be on the project I have undertaken at work, but as soon as the major pieces of the project are put into place I am going to be working diligently on my business partnership. More details will follow.

There's also a slight Internet Explorer CSS bug that I have to work out.....seems there's a bit of extra whitespace out to the right of the page when viewed in IE6. I truly hope that IE7 gets shaken down and adopted fairly quickly so that the world can finally rid itself of table-intensive design.....

he new site is officially live and is currently being populated with content. I have decided to go away from the Flash movie format for this site to help better optimize the site for SEO and accessibility. This version of the site is my first build utilizing the Joomla 1.5 Content Management System and will be a model for future turn-key site builds.

The next few months promise to be quite hectic for me as I work to establish this site as a landing point for the numerous projects I am undertaking. These projects include the following:

1) Developing a business partnership to provide turn-key e-commerce web solutions. This project is in the early stages of development and very few details exist at the moment. The short-term goal of this project is to create a dynamic and profitable e-commerce presence on the World Wide Web. Long-term goals include growing the business into a fully functional provider of scalable interactive tools for business enhancement, specializing in customized information dashboard design.

2) Establishing this site as a landing point for all creative and technical endeavors. This includes web design and development projects, digital photography and imaging projects, database design and development projects and consultation services.

3) In-Progress business tool development for my current employer. Due to the proprietary nature of the data and purpose of this project, details are currently unavailable.

As further details become available on these and any future projects, I will update the site as required. If you would like to enquire about the services offered or request a quote for service, please contact me here.
